The Anglo-Kenyan Mosaic Project Phase 5

In Spring and Autumn 2006 I was back in Kenya to participate in our largest mosaic project to date - to produce 40 mosaic panels for Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi. Sponsored by the Kenyan mobile phone provider Safaricom and organised once again by David Kimani of Juhudi Children's Club, this project involved over a thousand children and teachers from 14 Nairobi schools, as well as a number of Kenyan artists - all of whom used the medium of mosaic in their own unique ways.

The finished work was officially opened by vice-President Moody Owiri; and the project has since been the subject of a short documentary film "The Art of Healing".
